My first ever girl model kit.
And it was... not quite pleasant overall. Especially when I came from Bandai gunpla or Motor Nuclear to this model kit. Some of the cons from my opinion:
- Plastic is too soft and easy to leave a mark. I'm too afraid to sand them so...if you look closely, you might still see some white edges.
- Some parts are too loose, they would fall apart as you assemble without being careful.
- Need to use glue (specifically mentioned in the manual). Not cement, glue.
- A few errors in manual, many of them are in the decal guide.
- The transformation guide is difficult to follow. I gave up at the final steps when it became a mess :( I'm bad at this.
Yet, I love Sun Shang Xiang so it might biased, the final product is amazingly good-looking. The body proportion is just right to my taste and the color scheme is well-done. I'm happy to have purchased this one as my first girl (or I would say human) model kit as I have been looking at ATK girls and other Kotobukiya kits for a while.
I wish they would at least give me a few additional weapons such as blades or mini-guns.
